FAIRFIELD, Calif. – With 100% of precincts reporting, California Republican Party endorsed candidate, Tamika Hamilton, has secured enough votes to advance to the General Election.  Despite being outspent five-to-one, Hamilton has garnered twice as many votes as her nearest competitor and will now face off against Rep. John Garamendi in the Fall.

“I am so honored and humbled by the faith the voters have placed in me and my message to them remains unchanged: I will not let you down.  For too long our district’s farmers, businesses and families have lacked representation that put their needs first.  That ends today,” said Tamika Hamilton.  “While our district faces real problems, Rep. Garamendi seems more focused on challenging the President’s son to a fist fight, than offering real solutions.  After a lifetime of putting partisan politics first, it’s time to retire career politician John Garamendi.”

Tamika Hamilton had been facing another Republican candidate that had spent significant sums of money to defeat Tamika, however as of the most recent reporting not only is Tamika Hamilton’s victory all but certain, but Rep. John Garamendi appears vulnerable for the first time in years.

“This is a hard-fought win for an inspiring, new breed of Republican candidate like Tamika Hamilton,” said campaign strategist Alex Avetoom.  “This campaign has the new party leadership at the state and county level to thank for their steadfast support and we look forward to retiring career politician John Garamendi this Fall.”

A victory for Tamika Hamilton in California’s third congressional district would make history as she would be the first black woman from her party to represent California in the United States Congress.
